The Project Manager
Why we ask for a Project Manager
At Inlet, we’ve learned that the most successful projects are the ones where everyone knows who’s steering the ship. Having a clear point of coordination helps keep everything moving—on time, on budget and aligned with your goals in the Order Form & Service Agreement.
That’s why we ask that you (the Customer) either appoint a named Project Manager or ask us to provide one. Having this role in place helps ensure smooth collaboration between you, us and any third-party vendors.
If you’d prefer, Inlet can handle the Project Manager role for you—just let us know by choosing Inlet in the Order Form & Service Agreement, or via written request to support@inlet.tech and we’ll invoice based on our standard rates.
What the Project Manager does
Whether it’s you or your appointed person, this role will be responsible for coordinating the many moving parts of your implementation. Here’s how that breaks down:
Coordination & Communication
- Serve as the main contact between Inlet and any third parties (locksmiths, electricians, IT/network providers, software vendors)
- Manage the scheduling, testing and hand-offs so nothing gets missed.
Technical & Resource Setup
- Provide the required technical info (network access, server/infrastructure details, APIs) in a timely manner.
- Share guides, documents and system links with the right people.
System & User Configuration
- Define user-journeys and workflows: How will guests use the system?
- How will access work?(If needed) Supply a map or overview of bookable objects and their locations.
- Ensure coordination among locksmiths, booking-system providers and other integrators so access logic and workflows align.
Operational Readiness
- Make sure messaging (SMS, email, etc) is set up and configured — provide the vendor info and message content to Inlet’s onboarding team.
- Put in place procedures for service-disruptions or backups, so you’re not caught off-guard.
- Provide API/network configuration details after installation to support@inlet.tech so integrations and ongoing support can be enabled.
- Coordinate final testing and go-live with all parties involved.
Why we require this role
Without someone owning this coordination, projects often face delays, scope creep or unclear hand-offs (lock installer → IT provider → Inlet onboarding). By naming a Project Manager up front, we make sure someone is accountable for the “big picture” — giving you the best possible chance of delivering your project to the timeline and specifications in the Order Form.
