Installation of HUUM UKU, and supported ovens

According to Huum, any sauna heater with an appropriate power input (preferably 3-phase) can be powered using the HUUM UKU control unit.

Power Limits:
The UKU control unit supports a maximum load of up to 6kW per phase. Thus, the total maximum load is 18kW (for a 3-phase system). If you require a higher-powered heater, you must use the UKU Extension Box.

For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the HUUM UKU manual and the wiring diagram.

Important! Remote Start Safety

The "Remote start safety" feature is designed to enhance security. When enabled, the system will require a safety confirmation before starting remotely each time the sauna door has been opened since the last heating session.

To ensure reliable operation through Inlet, this feature must be disabled. However, disabling it comes with specific warnings and precautions. Please review these on page 20 of the HUUM UKU manual.

Timer in HUUM UKU

As explained on page 15 of the manual, you can adjust the timer setting to 3 hours. Doing so means that whenever Inlet triggers the sauna heater, it will run for 180 minutes before automatically switching off. This ensures the sauna won’t stay on indefinitely in the event that it’s not manually turned off.

Practical and Technical Requirements:

  1. HUUM devices and equipment is installed and fully commissioned in the usual manner by the installer.
  2. The device should be set into a countdown of 3 hours, so that it would automatically turn off after a maximum of 3 hours.
  3. To operate smoothly without the need for manual input on the display every session, you need to disable the remote start safety, however understand the UKU warnings, and prepare accordingly.
  4. Make sure you can controll the sauna from the app.
  5. Inlet needs to receive the following to email support@inlet.tech :
    • Customer Name
    • HUUM app username
    • HUUM app password
    • Desired target temperature (70-80 is normal range)
  6. Inlet will configure the heater
  7. Inlet provides information to the main system/booking system for testing.
  8. Inlet requires a minimum of 2 weeks of testing with the main system/booking system after Inlet has received everything.
