Igloo Home Portal Setup

Background:
Because there are many components in motion, we've compiled a list outlining requirements, clarifications, and areas of responsibility to ensure the seamless integration between Inlet and the lock system.

Some limitations to note regarding Igloo Locks:

  1. Codes will be invalid unless they are used within 24 hours of the booking start time. So if a booking is made for 12.00 today, the code has to be entered at least once in the lock in order for the code to be valid for the entire length of the booking. If the code is not used with the first 24 hours it becomes invalid, and a new code needs to be issued. 
  2. Once a code is activated for any given time period, that code will remain active until that time period is over. There is no way to revoke a code, as the locks are not online they cannot be reached. 
  3. There is no status reporting for Igloo locks
  4. There is a Max code time for 367 days. This means the longest code validity period is 367. We cannot enable any codes for longer than that time period. Trying to do so will result in an error through the API: "status":"ERROR","code":"422","message":"Exceeded the limit of 367 days"

Adding Igloo Locks into the Inlet Portal:

Some customers will get access in order to do the onboarding themselves, and will have gotten a username and password from Inlet support ahead of time. 

  1. Go to The Inlet Portal and log in with your username/password.
  2. Click the location link provided by Inlet Support
  3. Click 'Edit Location,' the blue button on the right.
  4. Type or paste the code from the Igloo Home app into the 'Auth code' field.
  5. Then click 'Fetch locks.'
  6. Your lock will appear on the bottom.
  7. Turn on 'enable' on the right side.
  8. Give the lock a sensible name so it is easy to identify later, especially if you have a lot of locks
  9. Click 'Update' at the bottom to save.
  10. Return to the Igloo Home app.
  11. Repeat steps 4 to 10 until all the locks you need to configure with Inlet are set up.
  12. Notify Inlet at support@inlet.tech when everything is ready, and the process can proceed.
