Many facilities today – such as camping spots, saunas, and gyms – need a fair and reliable way to control access to water and electricity. To make this simple, we have many lock partners that can provide relay boxes with built-in 4G modems that connect directly to the cloud. This allows you to manage showers, laundry machines, saunas, or even campsite power outlets without being on site.
How it Works:
- The Relay Box
A relay box is installed on the equipment or supply you want to control – for example, a shower, a sauna heater, a washing machine, or the power supply for a camping pitch.
- Starting a Session
When a customer activates a service (for instance by paying or scanning access), our system sends a short signal (a 2–4 second pulse) to the relay box.
- The Timer Runs
That short signal doesn’t directly keep the device on. Instead, it starts (or restarts) a timer that has been pre-programmed for a set duration:- A shower could run for 15 minutes before automatically shutting off.
- A sauna heater might be set for 30–90 minutes.
- A washing machine could be allowed 1-4 hours.
- A camping pitch could be supplied with power and water for 24 hours.
- Automatic Shut-off
When the timer expires, the relay switches off the supply automatically. If more time is needed, another activation restarts the process.
Why This is Useful
- Fair use – every customer gets exactly the time they paid for.
- Less staff work – no one has to manually turn services on or off.
- Simple setup – the relay boxes are compact, easy to install, and connect via 4G.
- Flexible – timers can be programmed for minutes, hours, or full days, depending on the service.
As far as we know here are a few timers that should work with the relay boxes from our partners, other timer may also work correctly.
