The integration between BookUp, Inlet and the access control system ensures efficient handling of reservations and access control, especially in municipal environments where BookUp is often used. Here's an overview of how the integration works:

Creating a Reservation in BookUp:
- When a user reserves a location via BookUp, the reservation is registered with the details, including time frame, in the system.

Generation of Password, Mobile key or URL key (via Inlet API):
- After a reservation is confirmed, BookUp communicates with Inlet's Cloud Access Hub. Using the /GrantAccess endpoint, an access code or URL key is generated based on the reserved time frame.
- The generated code, mobile key or URL key is sent to the guest, either directly via SMS/email, or made available through the BookUp platform, depending on the configuration.

Opening the Door (via the Access Control System):
- During the reserved time frame, the access control system will be programmed to allow access based on the access code, mobile key or URL key. This ensures that the doors are unlocked automatically at the start of the booking and locked again afterwards.
- Alternatively, if SMS-based access is used, a pulse is sent directly to the door lock to grant access, usually via the /GrantPulseAccess endpoint.
Privacy and Data Protection:
- No Personal Information in the Access Control System: The access control system does not receive any information about the guest. Only a unique ID is used which can be tracked in the Booking system, Inlet and in the locking system. This makes it possible to track use if necessary, without personal information being spread over several systems.
- Limited Personal Information: Inlet only receives information necessary to send access codes, i.e. telephone number and email address. No other guest information is shared with Inlet or stored in our system.
